Piers Meadows Recruitment are looking for a band 7 Dietitian to work in Wales.

Band: Band 7 Dietitian

Base: Merthyr Tydfil

Start Date: ASAP, until the end of March 2025 (6 months)

Hours: Paediatric

Clinical work: Community-

  • The post holder will lead on the planning, delivery and evaluation of a family based healthy lifestyle programme within Merthyr Tydfil. They will train and support multi-agency staff to deliver a range of family interventions that offer the highest value by improving family outcomes, through supporting healthy lifestyle behaviours. The main areas for intervention will be based on the key themes of food and nutrition, active play, physical activity and wider parenting skills. The post holder will communicate complex and sensitive information to a client group where there will be barriers to understanding, and reluctance to engage with services. This will require use of excellent tact, diplomacy, negotiation, motivation and persuasion skills to engage the client group with the multi-agencies. Working closely with a range of partner agencies and reporting to a multi-disciplinary steering group, they will map current service provision and community assets to support a whole system approach to tackling childhood obesity.
