Our established client based in Merthyr Tydfill is looking to recruit for an experienced Vehicle Technician.

You will work on vehicles in a team of technicians, reporting to an experienced Service Manager. You will help to ensure that our customers receive the best experience and are able to safely drive their vehicle away with peace of mind.

Skills required

  • Qualified to diagnose and complete vehicle repairs and servicing, following established procedures and quality control standards.
  • To demonstrate a desire to repair every customer's vehicle correctly
  • Able to work efficiently and unsupervised.
  • Able to analyse work orders carefully to understand a vehicle's condition, the accuracy of the diagnosis and what work has been agreed to and to swiftly clarify anything that is unclear.
  • To understand which parts and tools will be required for a repair or service and to analyse the quality of parts.
  • Able to plan work to ensure that a Vehicle Health Check (VHC) is recorded swiftly to enable the Service Advisor to schedule additional work if necessary.
  • Confident use of the computer to accurately record VHC details, including labour hours required.
  • Able to write clearly and legibly with accuracy when recording repairs identified or conducted, the parts required, and the labour involved.
  • To be able to identify and accurately record warranty repairs.
  • Clear communication with the Service Advisor or Workshop Controller and the Parts Department when necessary
  • When required, is able to communicate clearly with a customer to explain a technical issue
  • To safely and securely maintains tools, equipment, and other materials.
