Head of Operations

Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with a specialist maintenance contractor who are looking to recruit a Head of Operations. Part of a well-established privately owned group, the company are specialists in fire protection work, offering innovative solutions to their customers in both the private and public sectors.

This is a key role working closely with group level Directors to manage, train and develop the team to ensure commercial growth targets are met and profitability continued.

We are looking for someone with the ambition to take responsibility for the business and take it to the next level. As such, the long term career prospects of this role are excellent.

The Head of Operations will be responsible for: 

• The strategic management of all reactive and planned maintenance
• Ensuring that contracts are delivered upon and margins maximised
• Setting and managing project deliverables and KPI’s and ensuring the resources are in place
• Ensuring all HSE Legislation is understood, in place and adhered to including fire safety regulations
• Overseeing budgets, controlling project costs and ensuring profitability
• Developing key relations with a range of clients
• Working closely with the team to lead, mentor and develop skills

The Head of Operations will need: 

• Previous experience in leadership or management within the construction industry, ideally within maintenance
• In-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations, in particular passive fire protection
• A relevant construction subject HNC, NVQ4 or higher qualification
• Project scheduling and project management experience using software
• Excellent communication skills at all levels within the business and with clients, including senior level contacts
• Experience of interpreting programmes and complex project schedules
• The ability to train, coach and influence others in line with a wider business strategy
