We are looking for a dependable and adaptable General Engineering Labourer to join our production team at Monocon. This role involves supporting the Engineering Team, maintaining the facility, and taking on various responsibilities to ensure smooth operations. While some prior experience is necessary, full training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and grow your career in engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Support:

    • Assist machinists, welders, and engineers in the fabrication and assembly of equipment.
    • Operate basic tools and machinery (Chop saw, Grinders, Drills, etc.).
    • Work with paint spraying booth for finishing tasks.
  • General Labour:

    • Handle materials and ensure safe handling and storage.
    • Perform general housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe workplace.
    • Carry out light gardening duties to maintain the outdoor area.
    • Use the company pool car to collect and deliver parts, tools, or materials as needed.
  • Health & Safety:

    • Follow all safety protocols and ensure proper use of PPE.
    • Assist in maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Some prior experience required; previous work in a production or engineering environment is an advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
    • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
    • A proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Driving License: A valid driver's license is required.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, bending, and working in various environments.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to take on a variety of tasks as needed.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with forklift or crane operation (training will be provided if not already qualified).
  • Basic knowledge of power tools, hand tools, and gardening tools.
