We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our Rotherham Engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role will manage and implement engineering projects and plant improvements to support the business needs of our Upper Tier COMAH installation, ensuring compliance with stringent SHE performance standards.

As the Project Engineer you will:

  • Manage minor capital projects, special revenue projects, and plant modifications, meeting specifications, timelines, costs, and relevant codes and regulations.
  • Oversee contract engineering services to ensure cost-effective, high-quality performance that supports site objectives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation in line with engineering department systems.
  • Provide technical engineering support to resolve or eliminate production issues.
  • Source and purchase materials and resources from approved vendors for project execution.
  • Maintain documentation systems to ensure current, accessible information.
  • Represent the site on the Engineering Standards Committee, maintaining and updating standards as needed.
  • Support shutdown planning to ensure efficient execution of plans and work packages.
  • Manage, coordinate, and control external suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across all functions to achieve engineering and business goals.

To be consdiered for the Project Engineer role you will need:

  • HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Significant engineering experience, ideally in a projects environment within the chemical industry.
  • Experience with hazardous area electrical and mechanical equipment used in the process industry.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and planning skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of AutoCAD and CMMS systems (e.g., AX) is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Motivated self-starter with a methodical and systematic approach to work.

Additional Information

  • The role involves managing contractors (up to 10 onsite at a time) and liaising with external auditors.
  • The Rotherham site is an Upper Tier COMAH installation, requiring a focus on safety, health, and environmental management.
