Job Title: Arts TechnicianType of Business: Public SectorLocation: RotherhamAnnual Salary: £22,900 (FTE)Start Date: ASAPHours: 22.5GI Group are now seeking to appoint an Arts Technician to our public sector client based in Rotherham. The Arts Technician will join a team of Technicians providing support to staff and learners within a Visual and Performing Arts department.Main Duties of the Arts Technician:
- Provide technical services which support the delivery of programmes to the Art and Design department and wider Visual and Performing Arts curriculum area
- Maintain workshop equipment in line with Health and Safety guidelines
- Manage stock within the department
- Prepare and set out equipment and materials for practical work
- Clean and tidy workshops and other areas
- Support student's with learning, offering advice on equipment and resource needs
- Maintain and operate kilns
Role Requirements:
- Experience in the use and maintenance of workshop machinery - including table saw, pillar drill and laser cutter
- Experience in working with ceramics materials and equipment such as kilns and glazes
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility and team working
- Experience working in a customer focussed environment
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
