The Arts Technician will join a team of Technicians providing support to staff and learners within a Visual and Performing Arts department.Main Duties of the Arts Technician:

  • Provide technical services which support the delivery of programmes to the Art and Design department and wider Visual and Performing Arts curriculum area
  • Maintain workshop equipment in line with Health and Safety guidelines
  • Manage stock within the department
  • Prepare and set out equipment and materials for practical work
  • Clean and tidy workshops and other areas
  • Support student's with learning, offering advice on equipment and resource needs
  • Maintain and operate kilns

Role Requirements:

  • Experience in the use and maintenance of workshop machinery - including table saw, pillar drill and laser cutter
  • Experience in working with ceramics materials and equipment such as kilns and glazes
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and team working
  • Experience working in a customer focussed environment
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
