Your new companyHays Finance is delighted to be partnering with an organisation based in Education who are looking to add a Finance Manager to their established finance team.Your new roleAs finance manager, you will provide management and operational leadership for all financial aspects of the organisation, partnering with the COO and CEO to support them to inform strategic decision-making and formulating and implementing the financial plan within agreed aims and objectives.Main Responsibilities include;

  • Ensure effective and efficient financial and accounting procedures are in place and implemented
  • Manage the maintenance of all organisations transactions and accounts, budget and balance sheets in readiness for reporting
  • Oversee the checking, balancing and banking of all monies relating to the delegated budget that is received, ensuring accurate recording on the financial system
  • Oversee/raise invoices and ensure these are paid promptly
  • Periodically review financial process & procedures
  • Review and update the financial policies and procedures and required
  • Ensure improvements to financial management and control, including appropriate input and response to recommendations internal adult recommendations
  • Provide analysis and modelling as required
  • Provide support to COO in regard to procurement & contract management
  • Guide colleagues in relation to best value practice and efficient use of monies
  • Line manage the finance team

What you'll need to succeed

  • A formal accountancy qualification
  • Experience of producing monthly management accounts and variance analysis
  • Experience in supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and returns
  • Experience liaising with statutory/internal auditors and implementing recommendations
  • Full and up-to-date knowledge of best practice in finance
