Charity Shop Donations Sorter

Location: Rotherham

Salary: £22,369 per annum (Full Time Equivalent)

Hours: Both full-time and part-time hours will be considered

Contract: Fixed-term contract for 6 months, with the potential to become permanent

The Role

The Charity Shop Donations Sorter supports the charity by maximising sales through its retail shop. This role involves ensuring the shop is consistently stocked with high-quality, suitable donations.

 Responsibilities include sorting and pricing items to ensure they are fit for sale before being displayed. Additionally, the role requires assisting with various ad-hoc tasks to support the charity shop's operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • To work to set standards of stock preparation, ensuring all stock is sale worthy and priced appropriately
  • To ensure the sorting room is kept in a safe and organised manner and all materials are well stocked
  • To liaise with the charity shop staff and volunteers to ensure the shop stock levels remain consistent
  • To empty the donation bin and process the donations
  • To ensure all overstock and out of season items are labelled and stored correctly
  • To ensure all recycling is correctly packed, labelled and stored appropriately
  • Accept donations for public and ensure gift aid process if followed
  • To ensure working area is kept clean and tidy and that the sorting area is cleared at the end of the day
