We are recruiting a Despatch Team Leader to join our team in Rotherham. This is an exciting opportunity to join our client, to contribute and support our ongoing success and future expansion plans.

Description

Reporting to the Deputy Despatch Team Manager, the main responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Supervise the shift team, always complying with the health and safety procedures.
  • Drive the team to ensure KPIs are achieved.
  • Distribute manning where needed for the peaks and troughs of production.
  • Ensure product is taken off the lines and loading and offloading of trailers if following quality, appearance, and hygiene standards.
  • Perform checks to ensure product pallet numbers are correct against order.
  • Always maintain and promote hygiene and good housekeeping standards in the finished goods and despatch areas.
  • Strap, stretch wrap and restack product.
  • Shred obsolete stock, as necessary.
  • Undertake sheet board duties when requested.
  • Support running through break times and ensure continuation of despatch operations.
  • Contribute towards the departments continuous improvements and project work.

Profile

The successful candidates must have either a valid or previously held a fork-lift truck licence, can follow procedures, be proactive, problem solve and work on their own initiative, have a meticulous eye for detail and accuracy, and are numerate.

You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, guide and coach a team as well as being able to lead by example and develop your people management skills.

You will have the ability to learn new techniques to convert into best practice, with the energy and enthusiasm to drive the overall business goals for your team. You will also be willing to learn to use Microsoft office.

Job Offer

  • Salary on £33340 per annum.
  • Current shift pattern is the 3-shift rota, over 5 days, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week which includes a paid half an hour lunch break. This pattern will change in 2025 to a 6-day shift pattern with the expansion of our production manufacturing site which will offer an opportunity for personal development and career progression.
