About the Company: Elevation Recruitment Group is thrilled to partner with Grupo Bimbo, the world’s largest baking company, in launching their brand-new, state-of-the-art Takis factory in Rotherham. Grupo Bimbo operates in over 33 countries and is bringing the production of their globally renowned snack, Takis, to the UK for the first time! This new facility represents a significant investment in the UK market and will create over 100 jobs across various roles.

Known for their bold, intense flavours and distinctive rolled shape, Takis has earned a cult following among snack enthusiasts around the globe. Originating in Mexico, these fiery snacks combine tangy lime with spicy chili pepper, offering a snack experience like no other. The launch of this facility in Rotherham is an exciting milestone, making Takis more accessible to UK consumers.

Position Overview: Reporting to the Hygiene Manager, the Hygiene Associate is responsible for effectively carrying out hygiene tasks, internal and external, in such a manner as to ensure that, where required, building fabric, storage areas and equipment is stripped, cleaned, and reassembled in accordance with recognised procedures, practices, always maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, including health & safety to continually produce safe food.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out hygiene operations in such a manner to ensure that physical, microbiological, allergenic and chemical contamination of food stuff does not occur, to recognise potential contamination issues ensuring early reporting to relevant, responsible associates.
• Ensure all Health & Safety assessments are considered when working and that all preventative measures are adhered to.
• Once the task is finished, ensure that all relevant documentation is signed off as complete, making sure any issues are recorded.
• Operate and use tools and equipment in accordance with prescribed requirements including usage, storage, and application of named chemicals – ensuring that correct PPE is always worn, and you are fully trained for the task being performed/equipment being used.
• Be flexible and willing to train across multiple areas and equipment throughout the factory, as and when required.
• Responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the factory.
• Identify key pests on site, reporting and completing actions required to ensure the factory is pest free.
• Work closely with other members of the team and other departments to ensure required reports and handovers are effective and sufficiently detailed.
• Adhere to shift start/finish times and break entitlements.
• All other duties as allocated by the Hygiene Manager or Technical Manager.

Candidate Profile:

• Previous experience in a similar role in food manufacturing
• Good knowledge of Hygiene standards
• Pest Awareness
• COSHH
