Technician - Animal Management and Land Based Studies
Location: Rotherham
Salary: £23,650 (£11,825 pro-rata) per annum + benefits
Hours: Part time (18.5hrs per week, all year round)

The Role
As one of their Technicians your role is to be responsible for the welfare and health of the college’s animal collection.
You will be responsible for the supervision of learners during practical sessions and learners on work experience and you will ensure their animals are provided with full year-round care for all animals and any cover arrangements.
You will assist the Lead Technician in managing stock control for animal and land-based resources and ensure the safe preparation and setting out of equipment and materials for practical work and demonstrations within the curriculum area.
Skills and Qualifications
- You will have experience of working within an animal establishment with a range of different species including small rodents and reptiles.
- You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths and have a level 3 or above animal care qualification.
- You should have certification (or be willing to undertake) in Emergency First Aid and Health and Safety training.
Department Info
As a Technician you will report to the Curriculum Team Leader but will be supervised on a day to day basis by their Lead Technician. You will work closely with other staff within the Curriculum Area such as Lecturers, Industry Skills Coach and Curriculum Manager.
