About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Interim Health and Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of health and safety across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing health and safety within multi-site organisations and a strong understanding of public sector duties. This is a temporary role for six months, where you will play a key part in ensuring a safe environment for employees, visitors, and the public by maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of health and safety across multiple sites.
  • Ensure compliance with all current health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and systems across the organisation.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective measures.
  • Ensure proper investigation of accidents and incidents, producing reports and recommending preventative actions.
  • Provide expert advice to senior management and operational teams regarding health and safety issues.
  • Lead health and safety training initiatives for staff to promote a safety-first culture across all locations.
  • Ensure the organisation's public sector duty obligations are met in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Work closely with external auditors and agencies, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for senior management and relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in health and safety management within multi-site organisations.
  • Strong understanding of public sector duties related to health and safety.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and implementing H&S policies.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and drive improvements across multiple locations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Experience in handling accidents, investigations, and reporting for management.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
