Reed - Further Education is seeking a Business Lecturer to teach post-16 students various business-related modules. It is essential that you have recent experience teaching business subjects in a school or college setting.
What’s the day-to-day responsibilities of a Business Lecturer?
- Planning and Preparation:Â Plan, prepare, and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, and assessment plans.
- Delivery and Assessment:Â Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
- Resource Development:Â Plan, prepare, and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching resources, including online learning materials for identified modules.
- Inspiring Sessions:Â Deliver engaging sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
- Feedback and Progress Tracking:Â Assess student work, provide constructive and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners, and record their progress.
- Quality Assurance:Â Carry out internal verification duties in line with quality assurance processes. Develop and strengthen relationships with learners to ensure successful outcomes.
What are the required skills and qualifications needed for this role?
- Teaching Qualification:Â AET, PTLLS, PGCE, or Certificate in Education.
- Subject Qualification:Â Level 3 or equivalent qualification in the teaching subject area.
- Behaviour Management:Â Ability to manage challenging behaviour.
- Experience: Experience interacting with 16–19-year-olds in an education or apprenticeship setting.
- Basic Skills:Â Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Skills:Â Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- DBS Check:Â Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance.
