We are working on behalf of a well-established Further Education college that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in ESOL to join their dynamic team. Hours -

  • Monday 9-12 & 1-4
  • Tues 9-12
  • Weds 9-12 & then 1-4
  • Thurs 9-12
  • Fri 9-12

Your role:

As a ESOL Lecturer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students. You will deliver high-quality teaching and ensure that students are fully prepared for higher education or employment. Responsibilities include planning lessons, assessing student progress, and promoting work experience opportunities.

Key duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging ESOL lessons to learners at various levels
  • Support students in achieving their individual learning goals
  • Prepare learners for accredited qualifications (e.g., Functional Skills, Skills for Life)
  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
  • Provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Teach and assess on a range of courses appropriate to your skills and qualifications
  • Support student development through individual learning plans and goal setting
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices
  • Take responsibility for pastoral care and student progression
  • Promote student enrichment activities and work experience placements

What we’re looking for:

  • Relevant teaching experience and qualifications (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Must hold a current enhanced DBS
  • Experience of working with students of varying abilities
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity
