Are you a Teaching Assistant in the Rotherham area and looking for the next step in your career? We are working with a secondary school who are looking for a SEMH Teaching assistant to work in the SEND provision. This is to commence in September 2024 and will be long term.

SEMH Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

Assessing the needs of students and using your knowledge and specialist skills to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs

Have experience of supporting quality learning experiences for pupils and delivering specific intervention small group work

Understand the needs of students disengaged with education, and be confident with de-escalation strategies

Be motivated to make a positive difference in students learning

The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students

Showing initiative and asking for direction if needed

Care deeply about students wellbeing and personal development

SEMH Teaching Assistant Requirements:

Relevant qualifications or teaching assistant experience in the classroom (e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma in childcare)

UK experience as a teaching assistant

An enhanced DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to complete a new DBS
