Join the HR Consultancy team at Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, where we provide a professional HR service to a high standard, meeting customer needs and operating in line with HR best practices. We are seeking an enthusiastic HR Advisor to work within our team, delivering high-level customer service across the four directorates of the Council.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking HR advice and guidance, ensuring high standards of customer care at all times.
  • Provide casework support linked to all aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, capability, disciplinary, grievance, Dignity at Work, redundancy, and retirement.
  • Support organisational change across the Council and with partner organisations.
  • Offer advice on the Council’s policy framework, maternity, paternity, and other types of absence.
  • Provide accurate management information and data analysis to inform workforce planning.
  • Plan and deliver learning events on a range of HR topics.
  • Assist in the development of HR policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation.
  • Experience supporting Senior HR Consultants and HR Business Partners.
  • Strong ability to provide high-level customer service and HR advice.
  • Proficient in managing a variety of HR casework.
  • Capable of supporting organisational change and developing HR policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
