Mechanical Service/Fitter Technician (Rotherham) - PERM ROLE - SALARY £35K

The role requires a skilled experienced Mechanical Fitter/Technician, who is used to working from Mechanical engineering drawings ideally from a site M & E, plant maintenance or metal fabrication background.

This role involves predominately site work and a company van will be provided for a small amount of travel from time to time.

Your core responsibilities are as follows:

  • You will carry out site visits to undertake inspections or mechanical service/fitting work
  • Ensure that respective site work is carried out to a satisfactory standard and that all issues arising during the site work are dealt with immediately and in a professional manner
  • You will manage the relationship with the client on site
  • You will create site reports on completion of site work
  • You will maximise time on site by liaising with the Regional Field Manager and internal colleagues to ensure any technical or site issues have been discussed and work is completed satisfactory.
  • Work closely with suppliers ands ub-contractors
  • You will enjoy the hands-on aspect of the role and actively participate in site as well as job preparation work.

Your profile:

  • You ideally will have completed an apprentice scheme or anNVQ minimumLevel 2 or equivalent in an Engineering discipline and you will have a minimum of four years’ experience.
  • You enjoy working with a variety of people and are confident to build relationships with clients and suppliers.
  • You have ideally worked previously on site or you have strong aspirations to move in to a field based role.
  • You will be an advocate for health & safety, working safely at all times.
  • The ability to weld,ideally you have TIG welding experience.
  • You need to be conversant with Microsoft office.

In addition you will have a flexible attitude towards handling the different aspects of the role. As the right candidate you will be self-motivated, customer focused, team orientated, reliable with a strong sense of problem solving and ownership and be able to demonstrate initiative.

A clean driving license is vital to the role as well as willingness to travel.
