Mechanical Fitter Required (rotating equipment)

A well-established provider of rotating equipment repairs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pump Fitter to join the team. The role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial pumping systems across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and assemble a range of pump systems, including centrifugal, diaphragm, and screw pumps, following engineering drawings, specifications, and safety standards
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in pump systems and carry out necessary repairs
  • Conduct routine inspections, pressure tests, and flow tests to ensure system functionality
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities
  • Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and site personnel to complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Pump Fitter or in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of pump systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and relevant tools/equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience working with a variety of pumps such as centrifugal, screw, diaphragm, or peristaltic.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or similar) or a time-served apprenticeship is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK driving license is advantageous, as site visits may be required.
  • Experience in industries such as water treatment, oil and gas, or manufacturing is beneficial.
  • Basic electrical knowledge or qualifications are a plus.
