Mobile Maintenance Fitter (Heavy Material Handling - Mobile Plant) - PERM ROLE - REGULAR DAYS - Salary up to £40K

A well-established, family-run industrial environmental services business, with over 45 years of success and very low staff turnover, is seeking to appoint a Maintenance Engineer/ Mobile Fitter due to growth within the business!

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer/ Mobile Fitter with extensive experience working on heavy material handling equipment, including mobile plants such as loading shovels, mobile screens, and conveyors. The ideal candidate will have the ability to set up and manage servicing and preventative maintenance systems for both internal and external equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on a range of heavy mobile plant machinery, including loading shovels, mobile screens, and conveyor systems.
  • Set up, manage, and implement effective servicing and preventative maintenance schedules to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in heavy mobile plant machinery.
  • Maintain and service both internal and external equipment, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally.
  • Manage spare parts inventories and ensure timely procurement to support maintenance needs.
  • Adhere to and promote health, safety, and environmental compliance in all maintenance activities.
  • Be prepared to travel off-site the role will be 50% on-site and 50% off-site- Occasional overnight stay

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a maintenance engineer, ideally in a heavy material handling or mobile plant environment.
  • Hands-on experience with loading shovels, mobile screens, and conveyors.
  • Ability to set up and implement effective servicing and preventative maintenance systems.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical or engineering qualification ideally
  • Previous experience in a material handling or heavy industry environment.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance.

  • Monday - Friday 7 am-4 pm (however hours will fluctuate outside of these hours depending on the jobs- this will be on a rota basis.
