Job Title: Legal Aid Billing AssistantPart-Time (21 hours per week)Location: Rotherham Office & RemoteStarting Salary: Dependent on Experience (Freelance Considered)CRA are currently working with a well-established and respected law firm, and we are currently seeking a Legal Aid Billing Assistant to join our team. This part-time role offers the flexibility to work both from our Rotherham office and remotely, providing a great work-life balance. As a Legal Aid Billing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team with the administration of legal aid cases. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate billing and timely submission of legal aid claims, including the completion of CCMS bills. You will also be expected to monitor case progress and assist with reporting, all while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.Key Responsibilities:Inputting, processing, and interpreting complex data using various IT systems to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of billing. Preparing and submitting Legal Aid bills, including those through the CCMS (Client and Cost Management System). Managing and maintaining case files, ensuring that all billing information is up to date and properly recorded. Monitoring and recording key statistics related to billing and case progress, generating regular reports as needed. Collaborating with other departments to ensure that billing processes are carried out in accordance with legal aid regulations and firm procedures. Troubleshooting any billing issues and assisting in the resolution of queries regarding case costs and fees. Key Skills & Experience Required:Strong Analytical Skills: The ability to work with complex data and interpret it accurately to ensure proper billing and reporting. Proficiency in IT Systems: Experience using Case Management Systems, Accounts Management Software, and Microsoft Office (Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). A willingness to learn new software as required is essential. Attention to Detail: The role requires a high level of accuracy when inputting data and processing bills, so attention to detail is a must. Experience with Legal Aid Billing: A solid understanding of Legal Aid billing processes, including the preparation and submission of CCMS bills, is essential. Organizational Skills: You will need to manage multiple tasks, track case progress, and maintain up-to-date records while meeting deadlines. Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and external stakeholders to resolve any billing issues and maintain smooth operations.
