Elevation Recruitment Group are partnered with a specialist manufacturer in their search for a highly skilled Quality Manager to join their site, based in Rotherham. This key role involves leading the development and implementation of Quality Assurance (QA) and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management Systems, ensuring compliance with all related legislation, customer requirements, and industry standards. The business serve a wide range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, energy, and industrial engineering. The Quality Manager will collaborate closely with colleagues across various departments, resolving quality and technical issues, developing plans and procedures, managing continuous improvement initiatives, and liaising with both customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust QA and HSE systems to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Ensure all operations adhere to the latest legislation, customer specifications, and internal quality and safety standards. Maintain awareness of changes to legislation and standards and implement necessary updates to company procedures.
  • Work proactively with internal teams to manage continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Investigate and resolve quality and technical issues, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented and results are documented.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality and safety requirements are consistently met, and provide technical support as needed.
  • Provide training and support to staff on QA and HSE best practices, fostering a culture of safety and quality across the business.
  • Conduct internal audits, prepare and review audit reports, and support external audits and inspections. Ensure all non-conformances are addressed with effective corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Background in metals manufacturing/metallurgy
  • Significant experience in a manufacturing environment is essential for this role.
  • Thorough understanding of legislation, industry standards, and compliance requirements relevant to QA and HSE.
  • Extensive knowledge of QA and HSE management systems, including ISO standards and best practices.
  • Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001) or health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) would be advantageous.
  • Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Lean or Six Sigma.
