We are seeking a dedicated Compliance Assistant to join Rotherham Council. This role is crucial for ensuring our compliance with statutory areas and health and safety standards. The successful candidate will support our team by managing data, producing reports, and coordinating with contractors to maintain compliance.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Collect, analyse, and monitor data for statutory compliance functions.
  • Ensure robust compliance data is available on the system, including data validation and working across various teams to ensure data accuracy.
  • Produce reports and spreadsheets detailing compliance performance.
  • Provide administrative support to the service as required.
  • Prepare legal packs to obtain access to properties to ensure compliance responsibilities are met.
  • Update and maintain compliance data within our database, including testing and remedial works.
  • Work with contractors to order and oversee remedial works.
  • Monitor and follow up on remedial actions to meet compliance requirements.
  • Progress the ‘no access’ process where previous access attempts have been unsuccessful.
  • Take minutes of compliance meetings and follow up on documented actions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in analysing and recording statistical information, including preparing data for presentation and reports.
  • Proficient in using a range of computer applications and ICT including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, internet, and email.
  • Knowledge and understanding of statutory compliance functions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed reports.
  • Experience in direct dealings with the public and proven customer care experience.
