Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a specialist, global manufacturing business based on Rotherham on a unique Product Engineer opportunity. This role is responsible for the design and development of specialist products supplying into Automotive, Aerospace, Marine etc. This includes interpreting customer requirements, performing design calculations, optimizing manufacturability and cost, and creating or approving detailed drawings. The role also involves providing technical support to internal teams and customers, managing engineering projects, and supporting sales and marketing efforts to drive product development and business growth.

Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesProduct Design and Development
  • Design specialist products to meet technical and commercial specifications.
  • Ensure product designs and drawings are optimized for efficient, cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Provide technical input during the design and quotation phases to enhance engineering and manufacturability.
Technical Support
  • Respond to Engineering Action Requests (EARs) and Technical Queries (TQs) promptly.
  • Act as a key interface between internal teams and manufacturing for successful product realization.
  • Provide specialist product knowledge to sales engineers and customers via various communication methods.
  • Develop technical documentation and presentations to support sales and marketing activities.
Sales and Marketing Support
  • Contribute to strategies for product growth and innovation.
  • Support preparation of quotations for engineered parts and projects.
  • Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for new product development.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to meet targets and deliver solutions to customer challenges
Education and Skills Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Strong background in design, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Knowledge of engineering applications in key markets, such as marine, industrial, energy, automotive, and aerospace.
  • Experience with project management tools and applied mechanics.
  • Familiarity with conventional machining technologies (e.g., CNC, milling, turning) would be beneficial
Skills and Competencies
  • Expertise in engineering design and CAD.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Commercial understanding to align engineering work with business objectives.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
