Buyer – Rotherham – £28,000 - £33,000Full or Part Time hours available (25-38 hours per week)As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end sourcing activities for key commodities, encompassing both direct and indirect spend. This role includes implementing risk mitigation strategies, conducting spend analysis, requirements planning, market research, strategy development, competitive tendering, supplier selection, contract negotiation, cost-saving initiatives, and performance reporting.You will have the opportunity to collaborate with senior management and play a key role in identifying and driving innovative procurement strategies across a diverse spend portfolio.Benefits:

Buyer Responsibilities:

• Ensure optimal Total Cost of Acquisition through strategic sourcing and procurement
• Deliver year-on-year cost reductions in line with defined KPIs
• Develop and implement high-level commodity strategies to improve efficiency and competitiveness
• Work collaboratively with existing and prospective supply chains to drive strategic initiatives
• Identify, assess, and approve new suppliers to enhance procurement capabilities
• Partner with suppliers to implement Lean Manufacturing principles and drive operational excellence
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to support continuous improvement initiatives
• Conduct risk assessments on suppliers and commodities, and establish effective contingency plans
• Assist in resolving supply chain issues through proactive problem-solving

Experience Required:

• Previous experience in a procurement or purchasing role
• Proven track record of achieving cost savings
• Strong IT skills, with experience using MRP systems and processes
