Your new roleHays Procurement are excited to be recruiting a Senior Buyer for a global organisation. The Senior Buyer will play an instrumental part in the development and execution of the business sourcing strategy to enable the delivery of our year-on-year savings, as it leads the category management process to drive productivity and efficiency improvements.
As Senior Buyer, you will be working with the business and externally, the role is ultimately responsible for delivering the 'best in class' supplier relationship management, which includes the evaluation and performance management of suppliers to drive and focus a continuous improvement approach.
The Senior Buyer will keep abreast of the supplier market outlook, innovation, products, and pricing and uses their market knowledge and information to proactively influence sourcing decisions that optimise the company's cost base. Alongside this, the Senior Buyers have the opportunity to learn and leverage the global buying power, as you collaborate and work closely with the regional and global teams sharing learnings and best practices for working.
What you'll need to succeedYou will have experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment. The successful candidate will ideally possess CIPS/MCIPS or working towards the qualification. You will be able to demonstrate experience in Category Management and have a good level of commercial and business acumen.
You will have a proven ability to drive continuous improvements, savings, and best practices with the ability to influence change successfully cross-functionally and a basic knowledge of what makes a good contract, ideally with experience in contract drafting.
You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to develop positive working relationships both internally and externally at all levels.
