Our client is seeking an Finance Assistant on a temporary basis to support the Trust, in their Rotherham, South Yorkshire office.

Main purpose of the role:

• To provide efficient management of the school finances including budget and other administrative functions • Produce monthly budget reports highlighting any discrepancies or over/under spends. • Support the CFO, SBM and Governing board. • Produce annual budget with support of the bursarial team.

Main tasks:

• Place order and pay bills, ensuring delivery is to the correct person. • Provide financial advice and support to senior leadership (CFO). • Monitor expenditure and ensure effective budgetary controls. • Responsible for ensuring that the Trust’s accounting systems are effectively and accurately maintained in compliance with the Funding Agreement, the Academies Financial Handbook, the Academies Accounts Direction and all relevant Companies and Charities legislation.• Ensure procedures are followed for all deliveries, insuring there verified and signed for. • Search for procurement ensuring best value for the school alongside SBM.• Monitor staff salary report form and input into accounting software. • Assist with school audit. • Responsible for bank reconciliation checking statement against income and expenditure. • Ensure all invoiced are pain in a timely manner.• Manage the schools cashflow and maximise the schools’ interest withing financial, legal, and regulatory constraints.• Prepare and submit consolidated HMRC returns • Any other financial or administrative task that the Headteacher may need help with.

Desired Knowledge:

• Proven experience in Finance, Human Resources or similar field or qualification • Experience of managing multiple projects,• Good working knowledge of FMS and or SIMS or MAT • Experience with MS Packages e.g. Excel• Accountancy Qualification• Must be able to hold an enhanced DBS check.
