Location: Rotherham

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: £32,354 per annum (Spine Point 29), Hourly Rate up to £60 per hour (inclusive) or daily rate to be discussed
  • Pension: Automatic Enrollment in the South Yorkshire Pension Scheme
  • Holidays: 25 days per year, plus bank holidays (increasing with service)

About the Role: We are seeking a Security Manager to oversee operational security across all campuses and satellite sites. This role will involve developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe and supportive environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Planning: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security strategies aligned with our goals for campus safety.
  • Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments, identify potential threats, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Security Operations: Manage daily operations of the security department, including staffing, training, and performance.
  • Incident Response: Implement incident response plans for managing security breaches and emergencies.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Ensure readiness for emergencies, including natural disasters and other critical incidents.
  • Access Control & Investigations: Oversee access control systems, surveillance, and investigate security incidents.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to security regulations and best practices.
  • Team Development: Recruit, train, and lead a highly skilled security team.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with local law enforcement and community partners.
  • Pastoral Support: Provide coaching and support to students, fostering their engagement with campus life.

Key Objectives:

  • Ensure security visibility across campus areas during core hours.
  • Engage proactively with students to foster a safe campus culture.
  • Collaborate with safeguarding and student support teams to address emerging security issues.
  • Work closely with the Estates team on health and safety compliance.
  • Manage CCTV access and ensure effective security use.

Departmental Role: Reporting to the Head of Estates & Facilities, you will manage the security team and work with colleagues across the College Estates Team. Your role will contribute to campus security and safety initiatives, supporting a secure and welcoming environment.
