About the Role

The Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security Manager to oversee operational security across all our campuses and satellite sites.  You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

The key responsibilities of the Security Manager role are to;

Leadership: Assist in the Develop, implement, and maintenance of comprehensive security strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the Group's goals.

Pastoral Care: Working within colleagues across the Group support student behaviours through proactive measures such as talking, listening, identifying potential issues, defusing situations, and moving students as needed.

Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement effective mitigation measures.

Operational Excellence: Oversee the daily operations of the security department, including staffing, training, performance management, and budget control.

Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement incident response plans for emergencies, including natural disasters, active shooter situations, and security breaches.

Access Control: Manage access control systems, key management, visitor control, and surveillance systems to maintain a secure environment.

Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations into security incidents, theft, and other related matters.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant security regulations, standards, and best practices.

Team Development: Recruit, train, and develop a highly skilled and motivated security team.

Community Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with local law enforcement agencies and community partners.

CCTV Management: Work with the college to manage access and control of CCTV footage for security purposes.

You will…

You must have proven experience in a security management role, preferably within an educational setting, demonstrating your ability to handle the specific challenges and responsibilities associated with this environment.

A strong understanding of security principles, risk assessment methodologies, and incident response procedures is essential, ensuring that you can effectively manage and mitigate security risks.

You must possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively lead and motivate a team, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and build strong relationships with colleagues and partners.

You must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously, demonstrating your organisational and time-management skills.

A comprehensive knowledge of relevant security regulations and legislation is crucial, ensuring that you can maintain compliance and uphold the highest standards of security.

A valid First Aid qualification is required, enabling you to provide immediate assistance in the event of an emergency.

You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths and a Degree in security management, criminal justice, or another related field. A certificate in Security Management (CPP, PSP) is desirable.

Department Info

The Security Manager will manage the team of security staff across the College Group, providing leadership and guidance to ensure effective performance. You will attend and actively contribute to relevant meetings, providing expert advice and insights on security matters. You will also play a proactive role in enhancing the security of the Group and college campus environment, continuously seeking improvements and implementing innovative solutions and work collaboratively with other cross-Group teams to ensure the efficient completion of tasks and the seamless integration of security measures across all departments.
