Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lecturer in Employability to join our client’s team. In this role, you will inspire and equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to secure and thrive in employment. You will design and deliver engaging lessons, guide learners through personal and professional development, and contribute to shaping the employability curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality employability training sessions tailored to diverse learner needs.
  • Support students in developing key employability skills, such as CV writing, interview techniques, communication, and teamwork.
  • Provide one-to-one guidance and mentorship, helping learners to identify and achieve their career goals.
  • Design and adapt curriculum content to ensure alignment with industry standards and employer expectations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to create work placement opportunities and practical learning experiences.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and contribute to reports as required.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, and diversity policies, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Essential Criteria:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in teaching, training, or supporting learners, ideally in employability or career development contexts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment trends, recruitment processes, and skills in demand.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed about developments in the education and employability sectors.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in further or higher education settings.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and Prevent duties.
  • Familiarity with delivering online or blended learning programs.
