About the Role: As a Safeguarding Officer, you will provide high-quality, responsive support to students dealing with safeguarding and welfare concerns. You'll be the first point of contact, offering confidential advice to students and guidance to staff, ensuring safeguarding protocols are adhered to and all interventions are timely and appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, including child protection disclosures.
  • Manage safeguarding referrals, ensuring timely responses in line with legislation and guidance.
  • Accurately record and maintain student safeguarding information.
  • Build strong relationships with students to help remove barriers to their success.
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff on student safety concerns.
  • Work closely with external agencies to ensure appropriate referrals and support are in place.

Requirements:

  • Experience in safeguarding, particularly within education or community settings.
  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy (or willingness to undertake).
  • Safeguarding Level 3 qualification.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, child protection, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, manage complex cases, and advocate for students.
