Our client, a leading educational provider, is seeking an experienced Safeguarding Officer to be a key player in promoting student welfare and protecting those at risk. If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference, this is your opportunity!

About the Role

As a Safeguarding Officer, you will be at the forefront of providing vital support to students with safeguarding concerns. Your role will include:

  • Offering a high-quality, responsive safeguarding service.
  • Being the first point of contact for staff and students on safeguarding and welfare issues.
  • Managing safeguarding referrals in line with legal and statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE).
  • Working closely with external agencies, the College’s Safeguarding Leads, and various student support teams.
  • Recording and storing safeguarding information securely.
  • You’ll be instrumental in identifying students at risk of leaving their course or underachieving, working to remove barriers to their success and providing ongoing support within a professional relationship.

About You

To excel in this role, you will have:

  • Recent experience in a safeguarding position, preferably in an education or community setting.
  • Knowledge of child protection, data protection, confidentiality, and trauma-informed practices.
  • A Level 3 Safeguarding qualification and experience with youth engagement.
  • Ideally, you will have experience working in further education (FE) and managing various safeguarding cases.

Legal Requirements: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to complete a DBS check as part of the recruitment process.
