Day-to-day of the role:- As a SEMH SEN Teaching Assistant specialised in English, you will support the delivery of English lessons, tailored to engage and meet the needs of students with SEMH.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a supportive and structured classroom environment where every pupil feels valued and motivated.
- Work closely with the English department to implement strategies that promote literacy and a love for learning.
- Engage with pupils one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives and provide additional support where needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to foster strong relationships and support each pupil’s educational journey.
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with a focus on English and supporting students with SEN and SEMH.
- Confidence and dedication to go above and beyond in supporting children with special educational needs.
- Team-Teach certification is highly desirable.
- Must possess a current DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
