Responsibilities for the role of Lecturer in Construction

  • Teach and assess on a range of courses and learning programmes, appropriate to your skills and qualifications You will undertake all necessary planning, preparation and assessment to ensure excellent teaching and learning occurs
  • Responsible for delivering outstanding teaching and assessment up to Level 6.
  • With an enthusiastic and engaging approach, you will motivate students and support them to achieve their potential into the world of site supervisory and management.

Specification for the role of Lecturer in Construction

  • You will hold a vocational qualification at Level 3 or above, as well as a relevant teaching qualification and assessors award, or be willing to work towards
  • You will be able to bring the subject to life, using combined methods of practical, theoretical and digital which will engage your learners and provide them with the best skills, knowledge and behaviours for the future
  • You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake)
  • Good sickness/attendance record in current/previous employment, college or school as appropriate, (not including absences resulting from disability)
  • Ideally will have previous relevant work experience in industry/commerce within a specialist area
  • Preferably hold an assessment qualification (i.e. D32/D33 A1) or TAQA (or willingness to work towards)
  • Ideally have a sound understanding of Further Education Methodology
