As a Lecturer in Transitions Programmes, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences that equip students with the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to progress. You will work closely with learners from a variety of backgrounds, supporting their personal, academic, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that support students’ transition into further education, training, or employment.
- Develop tailored learning materials and assessment strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
- Provide pastoral and academic support to students, ensuring they have the guidance needed for their next steps.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to enhance curriculum delivery and student opportunities.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and best practices in transition education.
- Contribute to the wider academic community by participating in meetings, training, and continuous professional development.
Requirements:
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, or supporting learners in transition programmes or related fields.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- A commitment to supporting students in achieving their full potential.
- Relevant qualifications in a subject area linked to transition programmes (e.g., employability skills, foundation learning, personal development).
