About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting creativity and innovation? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Visual and Performing Arts department as a Visual & Performing Arts Technician (3D Workshop).

This role focuses on providing technical expertise and support within the Art and Design area of the department.

As part of a dedicated team, you’ll maintain equipment, manage stock, and offer hands-on support to learners and staff, enabling the delivery of high-quality educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Assist in the preparation, setup, and safe operation of 3D workshop equipment for classes and demonstrations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Manage, maintain, and service workshop machinery, including kilns, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Stock Management: Monitor and order consumables, maintain stock records, and manage inventory efficiently.
  • Student Assistance: Guide students on equipment and resource usage, supporting their learning journey.
  • Workshop Oversight: Maintain cleanliness and security of workshops, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
  • General Duties: Provide technical assistance to staff, manage waste disposal, and notify the Curriculum Manager of any damaged equipment.
  • Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with industry techniques and innovations to advise on departmental development and equipment purchases.
