Empowering Learning Teesside are working with a School based in Middlesbrough who are looking for a Site Operative to work at a Primary school.
The successful candidate will take pride in the welcoming school look and function and be able to work strategically when dealing with staff management and health and safety. The successful school caretaker will have a good range of experience including general DIY, cleaning and maintenance and will be able to communicate effectively.
Purpose of this position
To be responsible for the planning and delivery of all aspects of maintenance and health and safety relating to the School's buildings and grounds, including the maintenance, security and facilities management on the school premises and site to ensure a safe environment for staff, pupils and visitors to the school.
We require a caretaker / handyman to work in one of our primary school's in Middlesbrough, your role will include opening the school and closing each evening.This would be a split shift 6.30am-10am & 2-6pm
STANDARD DUTIESThe Role
- To assume overall responsibility for the smooth running of the building in all respects and to supervise any contractors working on site.
- Ensure security is maintained at the building, including the management and maintenance of Security Systems.
- Keep common areas clean and tidy.
- Deal with administrative matters relating to management of the building and staff. To work closely in co-operation with the Managing Agent, keeping them well informed about events and issues which affect the building. To provide a written building report to the Managing Agents every fourteen days.
- Monitor the presence of contractors around the building and supervise their activities to ensure minimum disturbance to residents. Sign off and records all works.
- Routine checks of the building, fire alarms, smoke detectors, fire doors etc.
- Minor maintenance works.
