Role: 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Middlesbrough (Hybrid, 2-3 days in the office)

Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 per annum

The Role: We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT team. You will be integral in delivering 3rd line IT support, managing live services, and resolving incidents. Additionally, you will support ongoing project initiatives aimed at enhancing and upgrading infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 3rd line IT support, managing case workflows and resolving issues alongside internal teams and suppliers.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure performance using tools like DataDog and Azure Monitor.
  • Implement security best practices including identity and access management (IAM), firewalls, and network security, ensuring compliance with industry standards like Cyber Essentials and ISO27001.
  • Support infrastructure upgrades and contribute to the company's digital transformation projects.
  • Participate in on-call support for escalated incidents and planned maintenance outside of core hours.

What We're Looking For:

  • Solid experience in IT support with a focus on Windows Server and Linux (RHEL) environments.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or VMware).
  • Strong knowledge of security, including firewall management, patch management, and vulnerability management.
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools and backup/disaster recovery solutions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor others.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
  • Familiarity with next-gen firewalls like SonicWall and SDWAN solutions.
  • Certifications in AWS, Azure, GCP, or VMware.
