A leading civil engineering and infrastructure specialist is seeking an experienced RC Engineer to oversee the design, construction, and management of reinforced concrete (RC) structures within major underground and tunnelling projects.

RC Engineer Job Overview

  • Structural & Technical Oversight - Lead the planning, design, and execution of reinforced concrete elements in tunnel and infrastructure projects.
  • Construction Management - Supervise the fabrication, assembly, and installation of RC frames, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
  • Reinforcement & Material Coordination - Manage rebar schedules, concrete mix specifications, and quality control throughout the construction process.
  • Geotechnical & Structural Analysis - Conduct assessments on ground conditions, load-bearing capacities, and structural performance using industry-standard software.
  • Project Planning & Budgeting - Develop project timelines, cost estimates, and resource allocation strategies for efficient project delivery.
  • Health & Safety Compliance - Ensure adherence to all SMSTS, IOSH, and CSCS safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement - Work closely with contractors, site managers, and design teams to ensure smooth project execution and problem resolution.


RC Engineer Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of ground mechanics, structural engineering, and specialised tunnel construction
  • SMSTS Certification
  • IOSH Managing Safely in Construction
  • Experience as a Person in Charge (PIC)
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in reinforced concrete structures.
  • Strong understanding of rebar detailing, formwork design, and RC frame construction
  • Experience of underground environments
