A skilled Heavy Plant Fitter is wanted to join a leading employer on Teesside, where you'll play a crucial role in maintaining our fleet and ensuring our operations run smoothly.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter, with a strong understanding of mechanics and diagnostics.
  • Qualifications: Recognised apprenticeship in a relevant discipline like mechanical Maintenance, Motor Mechanics etc
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of heavy plant, including dumpers, telehandlers and excavators.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot faults effectively.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: A knack for finding creative solutions to complex mechanical challenges.
  • Teamwork: A positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
  • A valid CPCS ticket is preferred but not essential.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on a variety of heavy plant vehicles.
  • Performing routine maintenance checks and services to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting complex faults, getting plant back on the move quickly and efficiently.
  • Conducting thorough inspections to ensure plant meets safety standards and complies with regulations.
  • Working with the parts department to ensure necessary parts are available for repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all work performed, including diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
