This role involves supporting pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4 who require additional assistance to achieve their educational goals.Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing tailored support to pupils with diverse learning needs.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Supporting pupils in managing their behaviour and developing positive attitudes towards learning.
  • Helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Working with small groups or on a one-to-one basis to reinforce learning.
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress and providing feedback to the teaching staff.
  • Collaborating with other staff members to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a PRU or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by pupils in a PRU.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or child development.
