Our client has a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join their team in their newly established manufacturing facility located in the Port of Middlesbrough. They are currently experiencing a period of significant growth, having transitioned from the commissioning stage to ramping up to full production and are therefore looking for someone who is eager to learn and passionate about system improvement.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for all electrical aspects of the site. They are not necessarily looking for someone fully experienced but rather someone who is motivated to grow in their career. They are committed to supporting your development and helping you reach your full potential. Your role will involve ensuring the smooth operation of the site, building your team, and meeting production targets while maintaining a strong health and safety culture through established safety systems.
Purpose of Role
The Electrical Engineer will design, develop and maintain electrical systems for our site, always ensuring a pragmatic and professional approach to tasks.
General Responsibilities
- Design and enhance electrical systems that adhere to engineering codes and company requirements.
- Analyse test data to ensure our manufacturing process meet industry standards.
- Draw up project plans and technical diagrams, using engineering design software.
- Perform feasibility studies for new projects, calculating project costs and delivery timelines.
- Oversee maintenance, inspection and system upgrade programmes.
- Maintain electrical systems and components including creating test procedures and maintenance schedules and preparing documentation such as user manuals and system specifications.
- Collaborate with other teams to integrate electrical systems with mechanical and software components.
- Co-ordinate the work of technicians and shift workers.
- Keep up to date with safety requirements and other legislation.
Person Specification
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
Essential
Time served apprenticeship with at least 3 years post apprentice experience.
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
HNC/City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering
Preferable
IOSH managing Safely
Siemens Programming
Key Experience
- Waste industry experience or similar with pelletising type environment preferred
- Working in a fast-paced production environment
- Excellent electrical fault-finding skills
- Siemens motors and drives control
- SCADA networking
- PLC fault finding/programming
- Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Package
- RAMS writing and verifying
- LOTO system operational knowledge
- Using heavy equipment
