On behalf of a highly successful and established group of companies, we are keen to speak with Ecologists who are interested in developingtheir expertise withinthe Rail sector. This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working as part of a collaborative, small team.

Overview:

Reporting into the Head of Ecology, the Senior Ecologist will provide strategy and guidance to the team, as well as be Client facing and hands-on to ensure a first-class service is delivered.The successful candidate will undertake ecological assessments and surveys for protected species and habitats in the UK nail community and network.

Duties will include:

  • Undertake site visits to complete ecological assessments, including appraisals, protected species risk assessments, in accordance with industry legislation.
  • Provide reports, documenting findings of completed surveys.
  • Collect and analyse data.
  • Provide ecological advice and guidance to Clients, consultants as required.
  • Manage and mentor junior members of the Ecology Team.
  • Provide high level technical reports to Directors.

The Successful Candidate:

  • Will be able to demonstrate a robust knowledge of ecology and protected species in the UK through previous work experience.
  • Have 5+ years experience in the commercial sector and ecology.
  • Have an Ecology related degree or similar.
  • Ideally (but not essential) be CIEEM
  • Hold at least 2 Species Licences.

The WorkingWeek:

The role involves extensive remote working, including site visits and home working. There may also be requirement to work weekends and night shifts/weekends for which overtime is paid. This is a full-time/permanent position
