Company Overview:In line with business, client and legislative requirements be responsible for the management of the Biomass Power Plant, ensuring compliance to and delivery of the company’s Operating Standards through leadership, direction and management of strategy, actions and results.

Successfully lead, engage and manage the engineering and maintenance site teams in consistent implementation of the above.

Role Overview:

• Ensure all E&M contracts are in place for identifying & managing engineering risk & use the framework of disciplined maintenance as best practice, leveraging from the other company’s assets and cross site engineering networking.• Support the site Operations team to effectively minimise downtime and optimise the plant availability.• Provide appropriate guidance and support for all major engineering and maintenance events at including outage and plant shut down, unplanned/planned events and incidents. Provide leadership regarding incidents throughout their life cycle.• Effectively manage and approve the E&M programme of work for submission into the Annual Operating Plan ensuring execution of maintenance is completed in line with agreed budgets. • Ensure competent discipline experts are available to address the technical requirements of the Operating Site. These may be sourced from the incumbent Site team or from the corporate engineering team.• Responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing maintenance and emergency procedures. Ensure site documentation L3 is in line with the higher level L2 Company documentation.• Review and monitor the Planned Preventative Maintenance Scheme and develop and implement improvements and cost savings.• Optimising spare parts holdings, focusing on asset life and obsolescence, with a focus on site strategic spares and ensuring that they are safely and securely stored.• Overall management of the Operating Site asset register and clearly identify safety critical equipment.• Establish control and monitoring schemes of technical plant performance, analyse and use this data to develop and propose engineering improvements that enhance plant performance.• Ensure that processes for designing and constructing new facilities and modifying existing facilities are managed through the company’s management of change process and in alignment with the company’s standards.• Ensure that all maintenance/engineering related goods and services are competitively tendered and delivered in the most cost-effective manner.• Effectively participate and contribute to relevant cross site working parties ensuring good practices are shared throughout the department and site.• Member of Site Incident Management Team. • Positively & professionally portray the role of Engineering & Maintenance Manager, completing required self-development.• Responsible for all day-to-day management activities for team, ensuring that your team are engaged and meeting performance targets or tackling issues at the earliest opportunity. • Lead the completion of all annual performance management activities relating to your team, ensuring deadlines are met.

To be considered for the role you will have:• Demonstrable experience as an Engineering and Maintenance Manager of a large plant• A degree or equivalent qualified in Engineering discipline.• Experience in the energy industry (Preferably in a Biomass facilities) or other related major hazard industries. • Experience in management of energy related assets. • Operated at senior management level in the same of equivalent industries.• Think at a strategic level whilst when necessary able to grasp the details involved in managing day to day performance of Biomass Plant.• Able to manage the complexities and challenges associated with managing and motivating staff in a safety target driven / cultural / client / service contracts environment.• Management experience of a team/site including coaching, managing performance and absence. • Be comfortable attending a power plant, at a site of ongoing work and control the situation/be willing to join in for a better outcome.
