NDT Technician

Hourly Rate: £18.14 (Dayshift), £22.68 (Nightshift)

We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for an NDT Technician to join our client’s team at a leading Oil & Gas equipment manufacturer. With 40 years of experience in the industry, we specialise in machining, welding, and assembling critical subsea components and systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and will be instrumental in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards.

Hours of Work:

38 hours per week.

Dayshift: Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4pm with a 30-minute lunch break, Fridays 7.30am to 1.30pm.

Nightshift: Monday to Thursday 6.00pm to 3.30am with a 30-minute meal break.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Perform NDT of in-process and finished machined components and high integrity fabrication welds to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Produce technical NDT reports and understand the differences between Ferromagnetic & Non-Ferromagnetic Alloy materials.
  • Utilise strong mathematical skills and the ability to understand engineering drawings.
  • Competently use Microsoft Office packages including Excel and Word.
  • Work well within a team environment and maintain a can-do attitude.
  • Be flexible and willing to work overtime to meet customer requirements.
  • Engage in personal development and be willing to increase knowledge in the field.
  • Train and pass on knowledge to other team members.
  • Assist in various other QC activities such as Pressure Testing, Hardness Testing, Heat Treatment, PMI, and Thickness Checks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in producing technical NDT reports.
  • Experience working within an Engineering production environment.
  • Knowledge of welding processes and Engineering Standards such as ASME / API is advantageous but not essential.
  • DPI PCN Level 2.
  • UT (3.1, 3.2) PCN Level 2.
  • MPI PCN Level 2.
