About the Role:We are looking for a dedicated Unit Supervisor to join our team and oversee the preparation of a variety of meals that meet the needs of our school meals service. In this role, you will lead a team of catering staff to deliver healthy, nutritious meals that adhere to Food-Based Standards. You will be responsible for food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and completing related paperwork to ensure compliance and quality.

As part of this role, you will cater for school functions, staff training days, and special events while working closely with Headteachers and support staff to meet the specific dietary needs of the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of catering staff to prepare and deliver healthy, nutritious meals in line with Food-Based Standards.
  • Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring smooth delivery of school meals.
  • Handle food preparation and ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Complete and maintain accurate paperwork, including meal planning and stock control.
  • Cater for special events, school functions, and staff training days as required.
  • Work closely with Headteachers and school support staff to understand the specific meal requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a catering role, ideally in a school or similar setting.
  • Experience in leading a team and overseeing kitchen operations.
  • Knowledge of Food-Based Standards and experience in food preparation.
  • Ability to manage and complete paperwork accurately.
  • Experience with computer systems for stock control, ordering, and other administrative tasks.
