About the Role:

Are you passionate about ensuring safety, driving compliance, and working hands-on with operational excellence? As a Process Safety Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in monitoring and auditing our operational sites to uphold Calor Gas's Process Safety Policy, ensuring robust safety standards are maintained. You’ll be a trusted partner providing expert guidance, leading safety studies, and driving safety awareness across our locations to mitigate risks and boost performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and lead process safety audits, supporting operational sites to align with our Process Safety Policy, Cal Specs, and standards.
  • Partner with site managers to implement safety and system improvements, sharing expertise that leads to meaningful change.
  • Train and advise operational teams on safety matters, fostering a culture of safety awareness and proactive compliance.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies like the Health and Safety Executive to uphold legal and environmental standards.
  • Investigate and analyze safety incidents, delivering detailed reports and recommendations for preventing recurrence.
  • Support hazard studies such as HAZOP, SWIFT, and more, ensuring thorough identification and resolution of safety gaps.

What You’ll Bring:

Essential:

  • Qualification: Minimum of a City & Guilds qualification, ideally HNC in Chemical, Mechanical, or Production Engineering.
  • Certification: NEBOSH Certificate in Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Experience: At least 3 years in a manufacturing or production environment, with a strong focus on process industries.
  • Knowledge of COMAH and HAZID studies, e.g., HAZOP, SWIFT.
  • Experience in auditing safety systems and current health, safety, and environmental legislation expertise.
  • Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to plan independently.

Desirable:

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Formal auditing qualification.
  • Background in the LPG or related industry.
  • Familiarity with human reliability studies.
