Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking team?

Our client, a leading UK provider in the steel industry, is searching for a talented Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their Middlesbrough-based team.

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all plant, equipment, and building facilities. Working within a collaborative team, you’ll ensure optimal equipment availability and handle all tasks related to equipment repairs and maintenance, prioritising safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform craft maintenance tasks and general site maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Maintain CNC machinery, with knowledge of welding and fabricating techniques beneficial.
  • Apply machining skills including cutting, milling, turning, surface grinding, and general machine tool handling.
  • Engage in day-to-day mechanical fault-finding, preventative maintenance, and process improvements.
  • Promote equipment efficiency and implement Lean Manufacturing techniques, including 5S, 8D, and PDCA.
  • Provide hands-on support in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical diagnostics.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering setting.
  • Completed a time-served apprenticeship with machine tool experience in a mechanical/electrical environment.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team with strong communication and time-management skills.

Working Hours & Benefits:

  • Full-time, Monday-Thursday: 7:30 am-4:00 pm, Friday: 7:30 am-3:00 pm
  • Competitive salary based on experience
