Overview
Under the direction of the Project Manager, plan, coordinate and expedite project activities and resources to ensure the safe, effective and timely completion of agreed deliverables in line with contract requirements, budgets and company procedures.
Responsibilities
- To work in accordance with WESL procedures, policies and standard working practices
- Ensure contractual obligations and schedules are met
- Ensure projects are executed in a professional and ethical manner
- Assist the Project Manager to optimise project revenue, margin and resources
Build professional and productive relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers
Key Tasks
- Ensure full compliance with company procedures and Statutory Regulations.
- Review and understand project drawings, documentation etc.
- Raise Technical Queries, Concession Requests etc as required.
- Undertake Material Take Offs and order materials, equipment etc in line with project requirements /schedule.
- Clearly define the scope of work and budget for all departments and third-party suppliers to ensure that they are aware of the workload expected and are capable of meeting the defined project milestones.
- Coordinate and motivate project resources, other departments and third-party suppliers to ensure objectives and schedules are met in a safe and effective manner.
- Consistently promote acceptable standards of conduct and work performance for all WESL and third-partypersonnel working on the project.
- Take responsibility for the planning, prioritising and expediting of elements of the project, inc engineering, supply chain and 3rd party activities
- Identify and highlight commercial changes/variations to the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor and ensure contract change procedures are followed
- Identify and highlight risks to the Project Manager at the earliest opportunity and help to define appropriate actions.
- Provide concise and accurate reports as required.
- Ensure all WESL documents are checked and approved prior to submission to the client.
- Evaluate project performance, identifying best practice and areas for improvement.
- Perform tasks as required by the Project Manager / Head of Projects.
- Promote excellent working relationships with clients, WESL colleagues and suppliers.

Role Requirements
- Experience as a Project Engineer in the fabrication/Heavy manufacture industry
- Able to read and understand contracts
- HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering or similar discipline
- Abletoreadandunderstandfabricationdrawingsandundertakematerialtakeoffs
- IT literate including Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc
Working Hours & Benefits
- 37.5 hrs per week worked 0900 - 1700 hrs Monday-Thursday. 1600 hrs finish on Friday (where hours worked prior)
