 What you’ll be doing… Reporting to the Group Maintenance Manager & Site Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanical Technician ensures the timely and safe execution of all maintenance tasks, working to procedures and relevant legislation for the site, including:
  • Provide site support for breakdown maintenance and mechanical fault finding.
  • Installation, maintenance, and repairs of all mechanical equipment
  • Managing and inputting mechanical maintenance data in the site maintenance management system.
  • Help the site team manage minor projects that are taking place on the site.
  • Put Health and safety best practices first in all work carried out ensuring compliance with all H&S standards and regulations.
 Your background… Must have:
  • Completed technical apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline.
  • BTEC Level 3 diploma (or BTEC ONC) in a mechanical discipline as a minimum.
  • Familiarity with a range of pump types including centrifugal, vane and air operated diaphragm.
  • Familiarity with a range of valves - particularly ball valves.
  • Willingness to undertake basic site maintenance tasks (non-mechanical).
Nice to have:
  • Previous experience of the chemical industry and a workplace dealing with the handling of highly flammable products, particularly in relation to solvents and hazardous ATEX zones.
  • Knowledge of Pneumatic Systems.
  • Additional non-mechanical skills.
  • Willingness to expand skillset via further training.
