A ‘good ’ primary school with ‘outstanding’ behaviour in Middlesbrough is looking to appoint a creative year 1 teacher to join their growing Primary School. The school has recently implemented a new marking policy which has been effective in supporting a healthy work - life balance. 

The headteacher would like to hear from Primary Teacher's that have a real passion for phonics and reading as there is a huge opportunity to work towards an English TLR in the near future.

The staff at the school pride themselves on being friendly and supporting – making the school feel homely and a real community! 

The Primary Teacher duties will include:

  • Supporting the pupils in their education through the national curriculum 
  • Teaching and managing the behaviour of 23 pupils
  • Working with a teaching assistant to implement interventions
  • Planning and delivering creative and innovative lessons
  • Using formative and summative assessment
  • Planning and assessing phonics following the school’s chosen program
  • Promoting independence with life skills
  • Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be available for work Monday to Friday
  • Hold a degree and QTS
  • Have experience as a KS1 teacher (desirable not essential)
  • ECT’s are welcome to apply
  • Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
  • A full checkable work history
